Tuition (Volunteer Tutors)
Filos provides a weekly tuition programme in a safe, caring and fun learning environment for Primary 1 to Primary 6 students. The tuition sessions are conducted by our dedicated Volunteer Tutors on the core subjects including English, Mathematics and Science.
Volunteer tutors will coach students in completing school homework and revision. Volunteers may also be involved in preparing lesson materials, marking assessments, and explaining to students their mistakes.
Day: Weekly on Thursdays (excluding school holidays)
Time: 3pm to 4pm, 4pm to 5pm, 6pm to 7pm (in 1hr slots)
Commitment period: Min 6 months

Role Description
- Coach students in completing school homework and revision
- Encourage good study habits and nurture healthy esteem and character
- Prepare for lessons, mark assessments and explain mistakes to students
- Engage all students at their ability and allow opportunities for everyone to answer
- Provide updates and work together with staff on progress of children
Volunteer Role Requirements
- At least 17 years old
- Teaching background or familiarity with latest curriculum would be an advantage. We welcome retired/former educators and homemakers to join us
- Able to manage a small group (2-3) of students
- Possesses qualities of patience, kindness, responsibility and reliability
- Is mature and independent
- Proficiency in the subject (English, Math or Science)
- Required to sign the Confidentiality Consent Form
